A tangible path to connection and presence. Prepare your body and mind for childbirth.

Autumn Prenatal Yoga Series

Nurturing the sacred journey of pregnancy through movement, connection, and transformation.

Rooted in community care and the sacred bond with your unborn baby, this series is an invitation to slow down, move gently, and connect—both with yourself and others on the same path.

Together, we’ll breathe, stretch, and soften into the strength it takes to birth a baby.

Join us every Sunday from 6:45 PM to 8:00 PM, November 9th to December 21st (please note: no class on November 23).

These intimate studio group classes are held at Little Words Studio (204-3355 North Road, Burnaby - Upper Parking Lot).

Special Class - Winter Solstice:
On Sunday, December 21st, we will begin with an acknowledgment of the Winter Solstice before moving into the movement portion of our session.

The Winter Solstice marks the turning point between darkness and returning light. As the longest night unfolds, we are invited inward to reflect. This is the womb of renewal, where seeds of future growth lie hidden beneath the surface. In honouring winter’s embrace, we honour the wisdom of rest, the beauty of endings, and the gentle promise of beginnings yet to come.

Please bring to each class:

  • Yoga mat

  • Journal and pen (optional)

  • Blanket and pillow/bolster for comfort during savasana (optional)

Investment:
$100 for pre-registration, or $20 for drop-ins.
E-transfer to hello@katherineblanco.ca or cash is accepted at the door.

Prenatal yoga

Prenatal Yoga

There are many benefits of practicing yoga during pregnancy, including reduced stress, improved sleep, plus increased strength and endurance. Yoga is also an excellent preparation for your mind and body for birth.

In the words of my beautiful teacher, Lori Lucas, yoga teaches you how to "relax on purpose". During the birth process, purposeful relaxation helps open up your body and allows for rest in between each wave.

Postpartum Yoga

Similar to prenatal yoga there are incredible benefits to practicing yoga after baby arrives. These benefits include getting back in touch with your core, elevating strain from long feeding sessions, plus engaging and increasing muscle tone in the pelvic floor.

Yoga also helps reduce overall stress and assists in restoring your hormonal balance.
